In 2010 Tanya Gomez graduated from the Royal College of Art, having completed a Masters Degree in Ceramics and Glass. The two-year course gave her the opportunity to develop throwing skills and advanced glazing and firing techniques.
Gomez spent five years working on private yachts, travelling the globe, absorbing colour, shape and diverse cultures. She has a desire to express her inspirations through clay. She has worked from her studio in Lewes, as a ceramicist, for the last nine years, both exhibiting at major shows around the United Kingdom and working to commissions.
Gomez hand-throws porcelain vessels that are aesthetically beautiful and entirely functional. Her inspiration is born from the basic elements of life, the passing of seasons, nourishment and the elements. The pieces emphasise these fundamental aspects of our life and draw our awareness to our relationship with them.
Tanya's work is regularly exhibited at Kellie Miller Arts.
