States of Being

SHOWCASING the surreal paintings of STEVE FRICKEr

28TH JUNE - 18TH AUGUST

Love After Love by Steve Fricker

This Summer, KMA Gallery invites you to experience the surreal world of painter Steve Fricker with a solo show entitled States of Being.

Through this body of work, Steve continues to explore the primal need for myth, habit and ritual in order to function and rationalise our existence. States of Being is a mediation on our existence as humans and the varying guises under which we each appear.

Introducing

TOM DIAMANTOPOULO

Landscape No.2 by Tom Diamantopoulo

KMA welcomes painter Tom Diamantopoulo to the family. Tom deconstructs the landscape focusing specifically on the relationship between the subject and the space around it.

Influenced by the styles of artists such as Paul Klee and Lucien Freud, Tom is most inspired by the English countryside in winter and landscapes in Asia from his many travels as a part of a punk band in his youth.

Tom’s paintings invite you to take notice of the painting's surface, with a density of textured layers that disrupt the sense of perspective between forms.

Artist of the Month

Mary jones

I’m Strong by Mary Jones

KMA Gallery is excited to announce that figurative sculptor Mary Jones is our Artist of the Month for July, with exciting select additions to her collection on display in the gallery now.

Mary’s process always starts with a conversation. She interviews her subjects, encouraging them to talk about memories, events or people that have been significant to them. With certain pieces, these abstract portraits are formed from conversations overheard in public spaces, lending them a sense of anonymity while still offering the viewer a sense of familiarity to their expression.
