Alexia Weill lives in Switzerland by the Swiss Riviera near Montreux.  As gallerist granddaughter, she loved sculpture from an early age. She grew up in a very artistic environment, with grandparents and parents art lovers, surrounded by paintings and sculptures. She studied at the School of Audiovisual Production of Paris and, at the same time, she attended workshops at the National School of Beaux-Arts.

Initially she created clay sculpture as a first canvas on live models. Ten years ago, she moved to Switzerland and she began to use stone to express a new creative dimension.  It involves the transformation of a stone in an expressive form that she calls “dialogue with the stone”.

By working the stone, marble, diabase, limestone or serpentine, she seeks harmony in the round shapes. With her “Circular impressions”, she works the stone in circles like a mandala, inscribing and sculpting her emotions, her visions, to emanate a circulating energy.

In 2009, she received the Honorary Diploma of the Academy of Fine Arts of the Southeast of France.

In August 2017, she will present a monumental circular sculpture for the Montreux Biennale of Sculpture by Lac Léman in Switzerland.
