Jane Skingley's interests and subject matters include seascapes, landscapes, and still life compositions, which she paints in oils. Her work is often rich in texture, as she is interested in random mark-making, believing that each mark has a beauty and energy that cannot be created through meticulous painting. Much of her work is created through flicking and dripping, giving each piece a certain ‘edge’.

British artist Jane Skingley was raised in Sussex, England. She originally studied Geography at Durham University before gaining an MBA from Cranfield University in Bedford.
Starting out with a career in financial PR, Jane’s passion for the arts led her to pursue painting. Although largely self-taught, Jane was fortunate to study under artist Charles McKinnon and began painting professionally in 2007.
Jane Skingley’s first exhibition was a sell-out. Since then, she has gone from strength to strength, exhibiting throughout the UK, Europe, and the USA, including fairs in London and New York. She has exhibited at a number of impressive venues, including Glyndebourne Opera House in East Sussex and the Mall Galleries. -
In 2017, Jane undertook a large commission for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) on the issue of climate change, which was held for display at the Houses of Parliament.
